Anthony Seibold backs Shane Flanagan take up Dragons coaching opportunity
Manly coach Anthony Seibold says he’d love to see Assistant Shane Flanagan get an opportunity to be the new coach of the St George Illawarra Dragons.
It comes after Flanagan met with the Red V during the week over the head coaching position, after former coach Anthony Griffin was sacked earlier this season.
Fresh from Manly racking up a 58-18 win over the Dolphins, Seibold told The Continuous Call Team he hopes Flanagan gets a chance to go back to being a head coach.
“He’s been outstanding for me, fantastic sounding board for myself at Manly and would go with my blessing, I hope Flanno gets another opportunity,” Seibold said.
“He’s a really good coach and a really good man and I think if there was an opportunity at the Dragons then I would love to see him get that opportunity.”
Flanagan won a premiership as coach of the Sharks in 2016.
