‘You’re finding excuses!’: Ben Fordham confronts teachers union over return to school
Ben Fordham has confronted the teachers union after it expressed concern about a potential early return to the classroom.
The Independent Education Union is “deeply concerned” about children returning to school earlier than planned.
Crisis cabinet is considering having children return to school on October 18 rather than the planned October 25 date.
Ben Fordham says schools should be prepared and ready for an early return.
“It’s 114 days [of lockdown] and you haven’t had time to get ready? What have you been doing?!
“Absolutely and utterly disgraceful, lazy, and there’s no defence for it.”

Independent Education Union Acting Secretary Carol Matthews told Ben teachers haven’t had access to vaccines or clear guidance from the government.
“The government has to take some responsibility here, if they’re going to change policy every week they need to consult.
“You guys are finding excuses not to go back to work!” Ben Fordham said.
