Aussie Actress Ashleigh Rubenach revealed starring in the musical of An American in Paris is vastly different from the 1951 film.

The musical follows a young WWII veteran named Jerry who is seeking a new life as an artist in France.

There, he falls for Lise, a woman with secrets of her own, all while coming to the attention of a rich heiress named Milo.

Ashleigh told Deborah Knight the musical production really focuses on the details.

“It fleshes out the story, fleshes out the friendships,” she said.

“It really captures the beauty and experience of Paris.”
