Australia ranked last: Ben Fordham slams climate change ‘stitch up’
Australia has been ranked last when it comes to climate change action.
The country slipped four spots to 58th overall place in the latest Climate Change Performance Index unveiled at the COP26 summit in Glasgow.
“In the same list China was ranked 13th,” Ben said.
“Does anyone take this list seriously? The whole thing’s a set-up.”
Each nation was evaluated by 450 so-called climate and energy experts.
Ben Fordham has revealed four Australian outfits were involved in the evaluation:
- Sustainable Business Australia
- The Australia Institute
- Australian Conservation Foundation
- Doctors for the Environment Australia
“These groups aren’t energy or climate experts,” Ben said, “and have been smashing Scott Morrison at every opportunity.”
Australia’s latest policy announcement includes $250 million to put 1.7 million electric cars on the roads by 2030.
Drive.com.au National Motoring Editor Josh Dowling told Ben Fordham it will be “a steep climb”.
“I’m not so sure we’ll get there.’
