Australian-first estate to offer $0 electricity bills
For the average Aussie, the affordability of electricity is a top concern.
“I don’t think they’re going to go down the way government promises they will. I just don’t trust that,” says Chris Smith.
But what if there was a way to pay $0 for your electricity bill?
For people moving into a new housing development at Kurnell in Sydney’s south, this will become a reality.
12 homes on a single estate will share a solar powered battery, something unheard of on Australian soil.
Natural Solar CEO Chris Williams says “it’s a really exciting thing”.
“The return on investment is very exciting and the fact that we, Natural Solar, can deliver $0 bills at basically an initial upfront saving to the developer is a really exciting thing.
“This is the first virtual power plant using battery power that also works with blockchain technology in Australia that hasn’t been publicly funded.”
