Article image for Autopsy reveals how suspected Canadian teen killers died

An autopsy has revealed the Canadian fugitives wanted for killing Australian Lucas Fowler and two others died by suicide.

Bryer Schmegelsky, 18, and Kam McLeod, 19, were wanted for more than three weeks after murdering the 23-year-old Australian, his American girlfriend Chynna Deese and local scientist Leonard Dyck.

Their bodies were found in the Manitoba province on August 7 and sent to Winnipeg for an autopsy.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) have revealed the pair died ”in what appears to be suicides by gunfire”.

“While both individuals were deceased for a number of days before they were found, the exact time and date of their deaths are not known,” the statement says.

Investigators are still looking into the matter “in order to gain more clarity into what happened.”
