Nationals Leader Barnaby Joyce said his texts to Scott Morrison calling him a ‘hypocrite and a liar’ are a private matter and not “a political hit job”.

Barnaby Joyce labelled Scott Morrison “a hypocrite and a liar” in a private text message, which was sent before he returned to the leadership of the National party.

Mr Joyce told Jim Wilson the matter should have remained private.

Jim Wilson: “To call the then Prime Minister and hypocrite and a liar…”

Barnaby Joyce: “Jim it was a private text message!”
