Dave Hughes has responded to Ray Hadley’s friendly sledging as they fight it out to be named Australia’s Hottest Radio Hunk 2019.

Ray Hadley has started his own campaign in an attempt to claim victory in the Take 5 competition.

There’s even some friendly rivalry at our very own station, with 2GB’s Ben Fordham and Steve Price also named as finalists.

Ben thought it might be fun to stir up a bit of trouble, and alerted Dave Hughes to the fact that Ray had made a few disparaging comments about him on his show.

While reviewing his fellow radio hunks, Ray said he’ll surely beat Dave because “he’s got a head like a Mongolian trotting duck”.

But Hughesy tells Ben he isn’t taking the bait.

“I know that everyone’s coming to get me… jealous radio rivals who want to bring me down.

“In all my years of copping insults, that’s a new one. I’ve got to give Ray some plaudits for that. I’ve got to google the Mongolian trotting duck.

“I’m gonna try and get one. They say that owners look like their pets, so I want to get a Mongolian trotting duck.”

Ben and Hughesy also promise to dedicate their awards to each other if either of them is lucky enough to claim the title.

The winner, who gets a “sexy shoot” in Take 5 magazine, will be announced in August.
