Ben Fordham speaks out against ‘risky’ Islamic State plan

Ben Fordham is speaking out against a plan to bring 16 wives of Islamic State members and 42 children home to Australia.
They have been held without charge in northeastern Syria for three and a half years following the fall of the Islamic State at Baghouz in March 2019.
An ASIO risk assessment has deemed these families low-risk.
Details of the repatriation are expected to be finalised today at Cabinet’s National Security Committee.
“I don’t understand why we would take such a risk,” Ben said.
“You’re, essentially, importing a threat that is currently not our problem.”
