Ben Fordham: Where was the outrage at Russia over MH17?
Foreign Minister Julie Bishop and Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull have expelled two Russian intelligence officers.
The two diplomats have been given seven days to leave Australia, as part of global action against Moscow.
In a statement, Julie Bishop says the attack is part of “reckless and deliberate conduct by the Russian state” which forms a “growing threat to international security”.
But how does it compare to the reaction given to the 38 Australians killed in cold blood as their MH17 flight was shot down by a Russian missile?
Ben Fordham has unleashed on the government’s response.
“It’s great to see us standing up to Russia over what happened in the UK… but doesn’t this just highlight my point?
“I can’t help but think we’re reacting to the wrong incident.
“We have not gone hard enough over MH17,” says Ben.
“Not one Russian official was booted out of Australia over that.
“Here we are expelling two people over an attack on the streets in Britain, but when 38 of our own are murdered in horrific fashion, no one is expelled.”
