Ben has big breakthrough in campaign for NDIS funding
Ben Fordham has had a big win in his fight to secure funding for disabled children in out of home care.
Seven-year-old Olivia and 13-year-old Jordan can’t speak, are fed through tubes, are wheelchair bound and require 24-hour care.
Parents Rob and Vanita were told if they want funding to continue, they have to relinquish control of their children and make them wards of the state.
After a lengthy campaign from Ben, state Disability Services Minister Ray Williams confirmed funding for out of home care would be guaranteed.
However, it wasn’t confirmed whether the funding would be permanent, leaving families hanging in limbo.
Social Services Ministers Dan Tehan has today confirmed the funding is guaranteed indefinitely.
