‘Betrayed’: Latest twist in Luai saga as playmaker skips Panthers training
Leading NRL reporter Michael Chammas says he believes Panthers star Jarome Luai “feels betrayed” by Penrith, as questions linger over whether the playmaker could seek an early release to join the Tigers.
Chammas’ news comes after Luai made headlines on Tuesday when it was revealed he would be taking time off from attending Penrith’s pre-season training in the wake of agreeing to a mega contract with the Tigers from 2025.
“I think Jarome feels betrayed that this has gotten out and he feels that there is a lack of trust there between him and the club,” he said.
