‘Beyond shameful’: Senator warns government it cannot hide from Royal Commission findings
The Disability Royal Commission has heard truly demoralising and horrific stories from the disabled community, and Senator Jordon Steele-John says governments can simply no longer shy away from the findings.
A long time advocate of disability rights and with lived experience, Steele-John says the government cannot hide behind photo opportunities and empty promises anymore.
“We do not want to see a single tear shed by a politician or a single minister shaking the hands of Disabled people without following that up with a commitment to immediate, tangible action”, the Senator told Deb Knight.
