Big Guns: Labor needs to wake up to ‘Bill Shorten’s unpopularity’
The Coalition continues to trail Labor, but Malcolm Turnbull has extended his lead as preferred Prime Minister in the first Newspoll since the federal budget.
The poll gives the Opposition a slim two point lead after preferences.
Big Guns Graham Richardson and Andrew Bolt agree that despite the latest poll, Shorten just isn’t up for the job.
“If Labor doesn’t start to worry about Bill Shorten’s unpopularity then they’re certainly not listening,” says Graham.
“There is a credibility gap and a trust gap.
“Just simply to carry on and ignore all the negative won’t work.”
As for suggestions Anthony Albanese take the job instead, Andrew says he’s not convinced.
“I’m not 100% convinced that Albanese is leadership material.
“Bill Shorten has, to his credit, had the Labor party ahead now in 32 polls.”
