Black ice causing traffic drama on Blue Mountains roads
Regional Roads Minister Sam Farraway is determined a tunnel will prevent further cold snap headaches on Blue Mountains roads.
There are hopes major roads on the Blue Mountains will reopen by mid-morning after black ice closed them.
The Great Western Highway was between Katoomba and Mount Victoria while Bells Line of Road remains shut between Bell and Lithgow.
Mr Farraway told Ben Fordham a tunnel under the Blue Mountains would prevent future traffic dramas.
“We’ve already got $2.5 billion put aside for what will be the longest road tunnel in the country.
“It will cost more like $7 billion.”
