Body found after house fire extinguished at Mount Druitt
A man has died in a house fire in Sydney’s west overnight.
Emergency services were called to a townhouse on O’Brien Street at Mount Druitt just after 1am, finding black smoke billowing from the property.
Firefighters managed to extinguish the blaze but the house sustained extensive damage.
A woman managed to escape the burning home uninjured but, tragically, crews found the body of a man inside.
He is yet to be formally identified and the cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
Police have established a crime scene and have begun investigations.
