Body of missing man swept out to sea at Moonee Beach found 150kms away
Search crews have found the body of a man who was swept out to sea in a horrific family drowning incident on the state’s north coast on Monday.
The 27-year-old’s body was located floating in the ocean by the crew of a fishing boat near Point Plumber, about 150 kilometres from where he first went missing.
He was one of three men who rushed into water to try and save three teenagers, caught in a rip at Moonee Beach near Coffs Harbour.
The teenagers, 13, 15 and 17, were rescued but none of the men survived.
It follows an extensive two-day search operation after the two other men aged 35 and 45 were pulled from the water.
Police say the group of six from India got into trouble while swimming at the unpatrolled beach.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
