A 13-year-old boy has been bitten on the cheek during an attempted robbery in Sydney’s north.

The child was with a friend at the Macquarie Shopping Centre at about 11.40am on Monday when he was approached by two men.

They allegedly threatened him and tried to steal his shoes.

The boy fought back, pushing one of the men, but was then assaulted and bitten on the cheek.

Police say both men are described as Caucasian, aged between 18 and 22-years-old.

One has shaved blonde hair and a tattoo of the letter ‘K’ on the back of his left hand.

The other has short brown hair and a tattoo of an uncoloured rose on the back of his right hand.
