Man charged with murder after fatal Newtown boarding house fire
A man has been charged with murder after three people were killed in a boarding house fire in Sydney’s Inner West.
The Newtown building on the corner of Probert and Albermarle streets, Newtown, was well alight and sustained significant structural damage before the blaze was extinguished by Fire and Rescue NSW.
The bodies of three people were found inside and are yet to be formally identified.
A 45-year-old man attended Surry Hills Police Station last night and has been charged with three counts of murder, and one count of destroying or damaging property by fire.
Richard Hotoran was refused bail to appear at Central Local Court today.
A man in his 80s remains in a critical condition while another is in a stable condition.
