Vaccinated freedoms announced as NSW surpasses 1000 cases in 24 hours
Premier Gladys Berejiklian has announced a loosening of restrictions for fully vaccinated adults from mid-September.
NSW recorded 1029 new cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm, but also hit a new record for vaccines, administering 136,000 in a day.
6.2 million vaccines have been administered in total across NSW.
As a result of the state hitting its first vaccine target, the Premier announced from Monday September 13 vaccinated groups of up to five will be allowed to gather outdoors.
In LGAs of concern, fully vaccinated households will be allowed an hour of recreation in addition to their hour of exercise.
All other restrictions, including the 5km limit and curfew, will still apply.
With cases continuing to grow in remote western communities, regional NSW’s lockdown will be extended to Friday 10 September as a precaution.
