Protesters holding up traffic on the Western Distributor have been removed by police but traffic remains heavy.

Listener Andrew told Ben Fordham two women were standing in the middle of the road with signs “Flood proof Australia”.

“It is really, really full on how much congestion they’re causing.”

Transport Minister David Elliott told Ray Hadley the protesters are “knuckleheads” who think they are above the law.

“It’s just the ultimate act of selfishness to go out and interrupt a city that’s on the edge at the moment.”
