The NRL states ‘full support’ of the Indigenous Voice campaign
The NRL has become the first football code to officially support the “Yes” campaign in the referendum to appoint an Indigenous Voice to Parliament.
A statement was released this morning by the NRL, saying that their position reflects their “full support” of the Uluru Statement from the Heart.
“As a proud supporter of the Uluru Statement from the Heart in full, since 2017, the NRL is committed to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice,” the NRL’s statement said.
“First Nations communities have deep bonds with Rugby League and are part of our fabric at all levels.”
