The Voice referendum date finally confirmed by Anthony Albanese
The Voice referendum date has now been confirmed by Anthony Albanese, with the Prime Minister setting in stone October 14th as the day we head to the polls.
The referendum functions differently to an election, with a double majority required in order for it to pass and be enshrined into the constitution. The ‘Yes’ campaign launched officially with the announcement of the referendum date in South Australia, a key battleground for the vote.
Voters are required to be over 18, and the Australian Electoral Commission has urged voters to simply write “Yes” or “No” on the ballot.
