Deborah Knight is keeping Chris Smith’s chair warm for the next couple of weeks while he explores what Europe has to offer with some very lucky listeners.

Smithy has called in and it’s got us all feeling a little jealous.

“It’s 28 degrees. We’ve been subjected to fresh food and seafood and Italian beer and red wine. It’s just fantastic.

“We’ve been to the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, the Vatican, the Sistine Chapel!”

Chris also reminds Deb about a time, around sixteen years ago, when the tables were turned.

“When I was in that seat you’re sitting in, you… were on the other side of the globe as a US correspondent, and I would throw to you in places like this.”

Deb says she remembers it well.

“You were probably jealous of me like I’m jealous of you right now!”

Rest assured Chris will be checking in again has he makes his way through the Mediterranean.
