Cabbie calls in to share the time he picked up ‘joker’ Chris Smith
A story about a grandmother paying Keith Urban’s food bill without recognising him prompted listener Paul to call in and share his own celebrity encounter.
US grandmother Ruth picked up Keith’s service station bill, but it wasn’t until he said his name she realised it was Keith Urban.

When Chris Smith asked his listeners to share their own celebrity encounters, cab driver Paul called in.
“This joker, he hailed me,” he tells Chris.
“Had a bit of yarn for a couple of minutes and I said, ‘Mate, do I know you?’
“I said, ‘What’s your name?’ and you said, ‘Chris Smith, 2GB!'”
