Canada manhunt: Police find bodies of teen fugitives
Canadian authorities have found the bodies of two fugitives suspected of killing Australian man Lucas Fowler, his American girlfriend and a third man.
The bodies of Kam McLeod, 19, and Bryer Schmegelsky, 18, were found on Wednesday near the town of Gillam in the Manitoba province.
Police have been hunting the pair since mid-July after they murdered the 23-year-old Australian, his 24-year-old girlfriend Chynna Deese and 64-year-old botanist Leonard Dyck.
A key piece of evidence was discovered along the Nelson River shoreline on Friday, which significantly narrowed down the search area.
The bodies were discovered just eight kilometres from where a burnt-out car belonging to the fugitive pair was located.
They are being sent to Winnipeg where an autopsy will confirm their identities.
Police haven’t released the cause of death and have not revealed how long the pair have been dead for.
