EXCLUSIVE | ‘We hope to find them’: Canadian Mounties pour resources into finding teen killers
Canadian police are using up a large number of resources as the hunt deepens for the two teenagers wanted over the murder of three people, including an Australian man.
Kam McLeod, 19, and Bryer Schmegelsky, 18, (pictured above) have been sighted twice in the town of Gillam as police close in on them.
They’re accused of killing Sydney man Lucas Fowler, 23, and his American girlfriend Chynna Deese, 24, who were found dead next to their broken-down car by the side of a highway in a remote part of British Colombia just over a week ago.
A third person was also found dead nearby.
The father of Schmegelsky has since said his son is suffering “very serious pain” and fears he will go out in “in a blaze of glory”.
Royal Canadian Mounted Police Corporal Julie Courchaine tells Ben Fordham there is only one road in and out to the town where the teenagers have been sighted.
“We do believe they very well could be in that area so we have deployed a significant amount of resources to that area.
“We are searching and we hope to find them.”
