Cancellation of Perth Ashes Test ‘tough going’ for coach Justin Langer
The final Test of the Ashes is in limbo after Cricket Australia confirmed it won’t be held in Perth, due to Western Australia’s tough border restrictions.
Australian cricket coach and WA native Justin Langer told Mark Levy and Mark Taylor he understands why the decision was made, but couldn’t deny it was “disappointing”.
“We’ve also, traditionally, had great success on Perth wickets due to the pace and the bounce there.
“From a personal point of view, I left at the end of September and I won’t see my family ’til February, so that’s tough going.
“It is what it is, and now we just have to get on and win the last Test wherever it ends up.”
