A war of words has escalated within the Federal government.

Tony Abbott has fired back at Treasurer Scott Morrison over immigration.

Mr Abbott tells Ben Fordham the Treasurer is “wrong” on the issue.

“Scott’s problem is he’s been captured by his department.

“Treasury is always in favour of more migration.

“We’ve got to decide what we think is in our long-term best national interest and then tell treasury what should happen.”
