Catholic school teachers go on strike
Staff at about 350 Catholic schools in New South Wales and the ACT will go on strike today.
They’ll walk off the job at 8.30 this morning, for four hours, protesting a proposed workplace agreement.
Independent Education Union Secretary John Quessy says they’ve been negotiating with Catholic dioceses for 12 months but made no progress.
The Union is fighting for pay rises and greater workplace rights.
