Cemetery planned for western Sydney golf course
A shortage of burial plots in Sydney’s west is reaching crisis point with a new golf course cemetery a potential solution.
The Catholic Cemeteries Trust has lodged a development application to build a massive multi-denominational site on part of the current Wallacia Panthers Golf Club.
The proposal could see 88,000 burial plots created at the site over the next 140 years, while maintaining a smaller golf club in the area.
Peter O’Meara from the trust talks to Alan about the plan and why it’s a win-win situation for the local community.
