Central Coast men charged over fraudulent COVID-19 grants
Two men have been charged over fraudulent COVID-19 grants and drug supply offences on the state’s Central Coast.
Cybercrime detectives have uncovered multiple alleged frauds against NSW Government COVID-19 related grant schemes.
A 30-year-old Mardi man and a 39-year-old man have been charged, with police alleging the younger man submitted fraudulent COVID-19 JobSaver and business grant applications and facilitated fraudulent applications on behalf of others.
He’s also been accused of supplying illegal drugs, including methylamphetamine.
The 39-year-old allegedly falsely claimed he had tested positive for COVID-19, subsequently forcing the closure of multiple businesses on the state’s Central Coast last month.
