North Queensland Captain Chad Townsend says consistency is the key to the club getting back to the form which saw them make the Preliminary Finals last year.

It comes after the Cowboys defeated the Knights 18-16 in a hard fought battle in Townsville last night.

Valentine Holmes was outstanding in the win and Townsend told The Continuous Call Team they haven’t put the complete performance together so far this year.

“I think it just comes down to consistency, and for us it’s consistency across the whole 80 minutes,” Townsend said.

“I feel like we’ve been good in patches for 50 minutes, 60 minutes but we haven’t really quite done an 80 minute performance.”
