Cheque your privilege: Abandoning cheques deemed ageist
Australia will soon be abandoning cheques as a legal form of payment.
The Federal Government will phase them out by 2030, as the world moves closer to a cashless society. According to the Australian Payments Network, just 0.1% of the population still uses them.
But not everybody is happy, with calls of it being an ageist move against older Australians.
