Chris’s great-grandfather Kyran Coogan left Ireland for Australia in 1875 with his sister, leaving his parents and four other siblings behind.
With the help of Oak Ancestry, Chris was able to find his third cousins John Paul and Canice Coogan, meeting up with them at a stunning estate in the ancient town.
The moment was a long time coming for Chris.
“It’s hard to describe what it’s like. It’s filled in so many gaps for me and it’s been a wonderful experience.”
Chris also met with Grace Fegan, curator of the Medieval Mile Museum, which caught the attention Ireland’s tourism authority.
