City of Sydney plans to shun businesses that don’t share their values
The City of Sydney council has come under fire for their reported plan to only work with businesses that share their values.
It’s understood the council will put forward a motion at the Local Government NSW Annual Conference to only work with contractors that share the same beliefs as the council.
City of Sydney Councillor Craig Chung tells Ben Fordham the idea is dangerous and has no place in local government.
“This is just another one of those crazy ideas from the Clover Moore political party.
“Our business is to really get the best value for our community and this sort of virtue signalling is really just not appropriate in local government.”
