Coles to lock up baby formula like cigarettes
Parents will now be subject to strict security measures when buying baby formula at some Coles supermarkets.
Infant formula will be kept behind the service desk at around half a dozen Coles stores across New South Wales as the supermarket giant boosts security.
Some tins will also be fitted with a specially designed security lid, which can only be removed at the register.
Woolworths will not be following suit and both supermarkets say they’ll continue to enforce a two-tin limit per customer.
A series of formula contamination scares in China have created a booming market for the resale of Australian products.
