‘Colour-blind’: Tony Abbott’s big problem with altering the Constitution
Former Prime Minister, Tony Abbott, joined Ray Hadley to discuss his concerns about the Voice.
Abbott criticised large organisations’ involvement in the marketing of the YES Campaign, stating “Businesses should leave politics to the politicians”.
He further raised questions about amending the constitution and its potential to evoke an ‘us and them’ narrative.
“And I just want us to go forward together as one equal people”, Abbott said.
“I want our constitution to remain colour-blind”.
He further emphasised concerns about potential division and protests following a tight vote on the issue.
