Cory Bernardi: Christopher Pyne blames hacker for Twitter porn mishap

Article image for Cory Bernardi: Christopher Pyne blames hacker for Twitter porn mishap

Cabinet Minister Christopher Pyne has blamed hackers for ‘liking’ a gay pornographic social media posting.

The Defence Industries Minister claims he was asleep when the incident occurred at 2am this morning.

Independent Senator and long-time foe Cory Bernardi claims he believes Mr Pyne’s explanation, but has written to the Senate President asking for a full investigation to protect “Australia’s national security”.

Senator Bernardi has told 2GB’s Ray Hadley  if he was hacked, it’s extremely concerning for the government.

“We’ve had compromises of Defence before and we know there are foreign agents who are always working towards getting into the system.

“And then we’ve got the circumstances where a social media account has been hacked at the admission of that minister.

“There are very serious questions that need to be resolved.”

Ray Hadley, “Given that you’ve known Mr Pyne for all these years, do you think his phone was hacked?”

“I like to believe in the good will and good nature of every Australian.

“It strikes me as odd that a man as busy as Christopher Pyne would be looking at gay pornography at 2am.

“I presume he would have had a big day with the marriage vote… he says he was asleep and you accept that. I take people at face value in that respect.”
