COVID-19 battle far from over: $1bn additional funding announced
As COVID-19 continues to cast a long shadow, the federal government has confirmed an additional $1bn to keep battling the persistent pandemic.
The new funding, announced in the 2023 Budget, is aimed at supporting Australia’s ongoing efforts to combat the COVID-19 virus.
The government plans to allocate nearly $100m on campaigns encouraging vaccine uptake among priority groups.
In addition, they are future-proofing against potential pandemics by dedicating $43m towards the development of public health technology infrastructure.
