COVID positive residents urged to evacuate flood areas despite isolation orders
COVID positive people are being urged to evacuate flood areas regardless of isolation orders.
Dozens of evacuation orders have been issued for low lying areas on the Hawkesbury, Nepean and Georges Rivers.
NSW Emergency Services Minister Steph Cooke told Ben Fordham “we are facing treacherous weather conditions.”
For COVID-positive cases or close contacts, the message is clear.
“If possible head to a family or friend’s who is fully vaccinated as a first option.
“But if you need to go to an evacuation centre you will not be turned away.”
