Craig Laundy & 2GB listeners help disabled blackball player with on-air donations
Former MP Craig Laundy and 2GB listeners have helped to pay for a disabled blackball player’s fees to get over to the world championships in Morocco.
Aaron Batchelor had a stroke when he was nine-years-old on his mum’s birthday.
He was told he’d never play sports again, but after being invited to go and play some pool with his best mate Tim he discovered a new passion.
Aaron has now been selected to represent Australia at the world pool championships in October.
He was trying to raise at least $2,400 by the end of August to help send him to Morocco.
Mr Laundy told Jim Wilson he wants to help Aaron achieve his dream and donate $1000.
Jim himself threw in $500 and listeners Mary and Danny also donated $500.
Listener John topped the lot by adding in $1,400.
Aaron told Jim he is speechless.
“I’m very very thankful and lost for words”
