Reports Australian cricket coach Justin Langer has been relieved of some responsibilities are being met with skepticism.

Former Test captain Mark Taylor told Mark Levy he’s “very surprised” by the notion Langer has been sidelined from the day-to-day running of the national team.

“That does surprise me, quite a lot to be totally honest.

“The coach has become a very important person … for the last 25, 30 years in cricket.

“I would suspect that that would be the main part of Justin Langer’s job, is to make sure that we win the Ashes this summer!”
