David Campbell has ‘big shoes to fill’ taking on iconic Hitchcock character
The Sydney Lyric Theatre will next year host a limited-season stage adaptation of Alfred Hitchcock classic North by Northwest.
David Campbell, who stars as main man on the run Roger O. Thornhill, admitted to Deborah Knight he has “huge shoes to fill” adapting Cary Grant’s famous role.
“He was an icon, and still is an icon I think – stylish, he’s debonaire, he seems to have no cares in the world.
“Now, I’ve completely always seemed like I’m out of control, so I have that part down.
“I’m supposed to be cool as a cucumber – I’ve got to get that nailed.”
