NSW Transport Minister David Elliott has described Peta Pinson’s endorsement from the Nationals as “really sad”.

Ms Pinson has previously opposed removing a statue of Sir Edmund Barton, but is now open to getting rid of it due to realising “much has changed since it was built in 2001”.

The statue of the Former Prime Minister is located in Port Macquarie’s Town Green.
