Article image for Defence Minister explains Australia’s role in Russia-Ukraine conflict

Decades and history of alliance between the UK, US and Australia will help fight any potential conflict with Russia.

Defence Minister Peter Dutton told Ray Hadley, “The UK will play a big role to deter Russia in whatever action they are thinking about against Ukraine”.

Defence Secretary Ben Wallace will meet with Mr Dutton after the UK announced they will supply Ukraine with ‘self-defence’ weapons over rising fear a Russian invasion is imminent.

“If we need to deter other countries from aggressive behaviour, then it’s best we do that with allies.”
