‘Disgrace’: David Elliott plans to overturn anti-racism sign near Anzac memorial
NSW Veterans David Elliott is on the case to overturn a “disgraceful decision”.
A “RacismNOTWelcome” street sign has been erected outside the Remembrance Park at Lidcombe, which is the site of a historic Anzac Remembrance Cenotaph and statue of a soldier.
“Seriously how insulting and offensive and can anyone give me a valid explanation this is at all justified and acceptable,” Jim said.
David Elliot told Jim Wilson he doesn’t understand the message Cumberland Council is trying to achieve.
“Why would they want to do it right near an Anzac memorial!?”

Cumberland Council Mayor Lisa Lake says the sign does not cause offense and is a “hopeful” message.
Ms Lake denied that the sign is in the wrong place and stated it does not have the intention to upset veterans.
“We will certainly consider any complaints that come our way.”
