Disgraced Blue Mountains Council claims it’s been framed

The Blue Mountains City Council asbestos saga isn’t going away.

Ray revealed the disgraced council went ahead with carpark construction at the Lawson Mechanics Institute, despite knowing the site was contaminated with harmful asbestos.

Material from asbestos-contaminated stockpiles at Lawson Depot was allegedly used at the institute, with staff uncovering fragments in the garden beds.

Now the council is denying responsibility for the material in the garden beds, claiming someone planted it to frame them.

Ray Hadley can’t believe what he’s hearing.

“They never fail to surprise and amaze.”

The council’s General Manager Rosemary Dillon says “it’s extremely odd the material lying on top of the earth was not previously seen when the site had been inspected numerous times.”

“I’ll tell you why Rosemary because the mob you’ve retained have got their eyes painted on,” Ray says.

“Hopefully we’ll see some action sooner rather than later from the courts.”
