‘Disgraceful’: Group of homeless veterans resigned to living alone in bush
It’s been discovered a group of homeless veterans have formed their own community living in the bush in northeastern Queensland.
The group of more than eight veterans have turned their backs on society and are living in tents in bushland in Townsville.
Founder of Veterans 360 Jay Deveraux says we need to do more to support our veterans when they return from serving our country.
“What I believe is happening is we are re-traumatising our veterans when they come home. It’s the most disgraceful act that any country could perpetrate against its warriors.
“They’re left to live their lives unsupported.”
