Doctors’ warning as they brace themselves for influx of patients
GPs are warning they’ll need greater funding as they prepare to manage the bulk of coronavirus patients.
NSW has surpassed 80 per cent double doses and so the majority of COVID cases are expected to be mild, visiting their GP rather than the hospital
NSW Chair of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners Charlotte Hespe told Ben Fordham there’s also an “enormous” backlog of patients due to the pandemic.
“For my practice we know we’ve got an enormous number of chronic disease patients that we haven’t been able to do what we normally would.”
